David Arnebeck: 1983 Tang Soo Do Grandchampion

November 5th, 1983 San Diego California. David Arnebeck wins the National Tang Soo Do Black Belt Sparring Championships for both the Lightweight Division and the overall Open Weight Division after facing both the Heavyweight Champion and Middleweight Champion.

​David Arnebeck was 19 years old and a 2nd Degree Black Belt* in Tang Soo Do at the time.

​* In the traditional belt system of Tang Soo Do the "Dan" rank (Black Belt Level) was actually a deep midnight blue color. The founder, Kee Hwang, believed that black represented an end, but the Dan level was just the beginning of expert level training in preparation for master level training. Now many Tang Soo Do instructors and Tang Soo Do organizations use Black Belt to represent Dan level.
